A highlight of Neha and Angad’s trip was visiting Tian Tan Buddha, also known as the Big Buddha, perched atop a lotus on Lantau Island.


This majestic statue, surrounded by six smaller figures representing the Six Perfections of life, offers both impressive views and a soul-soothing experience. After climbing 258 steps to the Buddha, the family walked the Wisdom Path, where 38 wooden pillars inscribed with the Heart Sutra prayer stand tall.

Hong Kong’s culinary scene is diverse, and the foodie family couldn’t get enough of the delicious revelation.


Po Lin Monastery: Sacred Feast For The Soul


The family relished lunch at Po Lin Monastery, indulging in a vegetarian feast featuring vegetable-packed soup, crispy spring rolls, stir-fried greens, yam fritters, and soothing tea.


From authentic cultural experiences like rinsing crockery and chopsticks with hot tea at the table to being served the freshest, most flavourful dishes, vegetarian travellers feel right at home here.

“People think there are no veggie options in Hong Kong, but honestly, every fine-dine, every kiosk, they all have fantastic vegetarian choices. It is a burst of flavours!” she shares.
