Clandestine café with Arabian charm

Word to the wise: The bijou nature of the cafe makes it ideal for a romantic and unusual date, particularly from Thur-Sun between 8.30pm - 10.30pm when belly dancers perform.

Hidden down a narrow hem on Nguyen Du Street, Casbah adds a little Middle Eastern charm to Saigon's thriving coffee shop scene. A compact but airy space that morphs into a late night drinking den, Casbah's azure coloured walls, delicate beaded curtains and large silk cushions evoke a luxurious Arabic harem while the rooftop terrace overlooking Notre Dame Basilica brings you straight back to Saigon.

Barbecue items and mezze treats feature on the compact but sufficient menu; the perfect accompaniment to the selection of coffees, wines and lethal cocktails on offer. Shisha pipes are also available.
