Renuka Lake

The largest natural lake in Himachal Pradesh, this lake is named after the goddess Renuka. It lies in the midst of a thickly wooded valley in Sirmour district in Himachal Pradesh. Surrounded by a wildlife sanctuary and even several temples, there's enough to keep you busy for a couple of days if you're looking to venture beyond your hotel gardens. There are also boating facilities available, and Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation runs a hotel just along the banks of the lake, which is a good spot to pick.
