As travellers, we often look for offbeat places to stay in an otherwise popular tourist destination. Offering spectacular views of Old Havana from a higher and quieter part of the city is La Rosa de Ortega, a 10-room bed and breakfast situated La Vibora, on the second-highest hill in the city. The house, originally built in 1938, has been renovated and made ready for the travellers by the husband-and-wife team which owns the place. They have revamped the interiors of the rooms, built a large swimming pool, developed a beautiful garden, and built a covered pavilion to serve as a dining space for the guests. Some of the finer details of the hotel include the presence of handmade furniture, geometric tile floors, and white linens.
