Cosmopolitan café that's going places
If you had any doubt as to the theme of this Merchant City café before you set foot in the door, that'll soon pass when you're handed the train timetable-style menu and you grab a seat reclaimed from an old Glasgow bus. Yes, transport's the thing here, with European-themed sandwiches and simple café fare forming the bulk of the menu.
Sunday brunch is Trans-Europe Café's forte; generously served from 10am-5pm, the eggs Benedict/florentine/royal is covered in one of the best Hollandaise sauces in the city. It's nothing groundbreaking, but when a classic's done this well, it deserves to be recognised.
