Experimental, tapas-style Indian cuisine
Word to the wise: Unfortunately, Mother India's Café doesn't accept bookings so if you plan on visiting on a Friday or Saturday night, prepare to wait.
What started out as a West End secret is now widely regarded as the best curry house in town. Despite the price hike that accompanied the addition of white tablecloths during the restaurant's smartening-up phase, curry-philes continue to pack out Mother India's Café every night of the week.
Adopting a Spanish "little and often" approach to casual Indian dining, the extensive and exceptionally executed menu features experimental takes on otherwise classic Indian dishes. It's recommended that you begin with three or four dishes between two people but with dishes as moreish as their tangy chicken tikka makhni and sensational saag paneer, it'll be hard to restrain yourself to just those few.
