This medieval Swiss town known for its delicious cheeses and chocolates is a must-visit. Hop onto a Gruyere-bound train from Geneva train station that will take you through sweeping mountains and landscaped vistas and arrive at the destination in 2 hours flat. There are trains running every hour from Geneva to Gruyere, and you may take a pit stop at a beautiful place called Montreux that falls mid-way. Savour the “cheesy” meals at one of the cafés and fill your bags with loads of sweet nothings to nibble on your way back home. History buffs may take away their share of antiquity, by visiting the archetypal Château de Gruyères and its surrounding medieval village.
