Big laughs in a mid-sized theater
Noteworthy for: Comedians from the 'Daily Show' and 'Saturday Night Live' are often part of the line-up at Austin's top comedy club.

Since 1986, Cap City Comedy Club has been the only club in Austin that regularly books A-list stand-up comedians such as Kevin Nealon, Maria Bamford, and Louis C.K. Several competitors have sprung up in recent years, but most of them focus on the increasingly vibrant local comedy scene, leaving Cap City to host the big acts.
The room seats 350 people, mostly around four-person tables, and the stage is only slightly elevated, so the people in front can practically reach out and touch the comedian - although that sort of thing is discouraged.
