If you’re a fan of excellent sushi, Joss at Santacruz is where you need to be. Run by Dilshad and Farrokh Khambata who also own Umame and Amadeus, Joss is a modern Oriental and Japanese fine dining restaurant. The restaurant is famous for its ‘flying buffet’, which features aromatic Thai dumplings, hand-pulled noodles and Balinese curry. Chef Farrokh is a seasoned expert in Oriental cuisine and it shows in the spicy samurai sushi and the splendid khowsuey. Make sure you also try char siu pork bao and Vietnamese fried rice. Interestingly titled ‘Big Bang Theory’ this is Joss’ signature dessert which has to be eaten straight off the table! The décor here is stately and understated, allowing the innovative presentation of the dishes to do all the talking.
