Although Swagath also accommodates north Indian and Chinese fare on its pages, it’s the seafood that is responsible for a long list of loyal patrons over the past decade. The restaurant doesn’t offer much in terms of ambience and décor, but makes up for it with food that is big in terms of flavour, portions and spice. From the lobster to the boneless pomfret, and the tandoori fish to the prawn gussi—accompany your main with a side of their deliciously fluffy appam. The original restaurant in Defence Colony remains the best, go for the food and the food alone.
