It’s difficult to trace the heritage of these deep fried balls of moong dal popularly known in the capital as Ram laddoo. Essentially, the laddoos are golden balls of lentils which are light and fluffy, crunchy on the top and soft inside, and are served with a garnish of tangy green chutney and grated radish. Vendors station themselves at crowded hubs across the city, and the one at the Alaknanda market in south delhi is definitely one of the best.
