Opulence, taken up a notch
Word to the wise: The Friday brunch is one of the best in the city. A limitless supply of mojitos and oysters keeps things interesting.
The name spells it out: Pearls & Caviar is as expensive as it sounds. Fortunately, the interiors achieve a modicum of subtlety: sweeping curtains made from (you guessed it) hundreds of shimmering pearls are balanced by traditional mosaic floors and an understated black and white colour scheme.
The menu is a global take on fine dining, though every now and then local elements creep in: roasted scallops might come dressed with coffee and cardamom, or a slice of cheesecake with local katayef cheese. Such flair has ensured the restaurant’s top position on the restaurant scene.
