If you get tired of the daintiness and theatrics associated with Japanese cuisine, Goichi pizza is a great place to relax with a slice of the world’s most favourite Italian dish. Located in Shimogyo-ku ward of Kyoto, this eatery serves scrumptious, doughy pizzas and homemade pasta dishes, all of which are packed with flavours straight out of their motherland. The marinara sauce at Goichi is tangy and the parmesan cheese is in plenty. With ten varieties to choose from, the size of their pizzas are, well, more Japanese than Italian and you might want to order two if you are someone with a large appetite. Additionally, they have a decent selection of wines to accompany your food. Most guests are often amused to find that the sinful lasagne served here is spelled ‘lazania’.
