Migros Marktgasse

Migros is one of the largest supermarkets in Bern and is a landmark not just because of the cheap deals you get on practically everything under the sun, but also because of the fantastic self-service restaurant it is home to. Located on the 1st floor of the department store, this eatery has everything from basic salads, quiches and pizzas to elaborate chicken and salmon preparations and sinful desserts. Located on Marktgasse, the medieval heart of the Swiss capital, it is the easiest to spot.
The variety of food is, in fact, never ending and Migros is the perfect place for a quick bite after a tiring day of shopping. The prices are perhaps the most reasonable in the city and the quantity is enough to keep you full for several hours. Everything on the menu tastes good despite having no fancy labels attached to them whatsoever and vegetarians will not go back home hungry. If you do not care about the ambience of an eatery and aren’t much of a sucker for good service, Migros is where you should be.
