Designed to capture the essence of the Indian freedom struggle, 1947 brings together authentic vegetarian cuisine with the innovative theme of post-war independence. The décor features huge posters of freedom fighters as well as artefacts like the charkha, a cannon and a few old world switchboards. The Banashankari outlet of 1947 is the first and oldest of the five outlets in the city and housed within a two-storey establishment that serves up a delectable North Indian spread ranging from paneer tikkas to tandoori mushrooms. The restaurant’s sophisticated and dramatic approach to vegetarian cuisine transports you back to the India of yesteryear.
