Located in Begum Bazaar in the Charminar area, Lakshman ki Mandi offers cheap and delicious dosas and other south Indian fare. The bandi (cart) has a sizeable fan following and is an extremely popular breakfast spot. Remember not to count your calories when you visit this eatery. Fried with butter, its sinfully rich and delicious idlis, vadas and dosas are served with green chutney—a departure from the coconut chutney offered around the city. Service is quick, with the food being served on bananas leaves. The original outlet at Begum Bazaar is over 50 years old, with another branch located at Gyanbagh Colony.
