Vertigo & Moon Bar at Banyan Tree

The timelessly elegant Banyan Tree Hotel has been around long enough to see Bangkok’s rise as an internationally popular travel destination: the hotel’s now famous Vertigo Restaurant & Moon Bar were originally one of the city’s first rooftop joints. Located high up on the 61st floor, Vertigo and Moon Bar are spacious venues featuring 360 degree views of the surrounding city. While this mesmerising vista doesn’t come cheap, prices here are relatively comparable to Bangkok’s other rooftop bars. Backlit menus offer a funky design solution to reading fine print beneath the dark night’s sky.
However, those uninterested in the view are better off sticking with street-level Michelin restaurants. Vertigo Restaurant’s menu does indeed offer high quality, impressive dishes, but the cost is significantly higher for similar fare down below. The main draw for coming here is definitely the view—and it’s worth it! Please consider your attire since dress code is in full effect. And plan your visit around the weather; there’s no sense in doing Vertigo & Moon Bar if it’s raining or uncomfortably windy up top.
