Quirky albeit aesthetically pleasing interiors, laidback ambience, a sufficient menu and superb food— Guppi means love in Japanese, and does justice to its weighty moniker. Lodi Market’s newest culinary experiment scores high on most parameters—save for the portions, which could have been more generous given the hefty bill at the end of your meal—every dish is beautifully plated and the flavours are unfamiliar yet welcomed. Stick to the sushi and sashimi section in starters, and move on to the set lunch menu or the chef’s recommendations for mains. The Guppi signature pork belly is a sweet-sour-sticky mess of deliciousness, and gets a big thumbs-up.
