In this day and age, there is a variety of ‘unique’ travel opportunities available. One such option is crazy dining experience. Many of the top cities in the world have more than a handful of weird restaurants to choose from, but here are some of the most interesting ones.

Sky dine Dining in the sky is just what it sounds like. Started in Belgium, this unique experience by Dinner in the Sky is now available in many cities around the world. A platform is hoisted around 150 feet high in the air by crane so that you are up with the skyscrapers. Your feet dangle in rollercoaster style stairs to give you ample adrenaline rush. Dinner is delicious and there are usually 12-20 people allowed up at a time. They often have a live performer on the platform with you. The only downfall is that if one person has to use the restroom they have to lower the whole crane. Where can you experience this? Australia, Japan, India, Dubai, South Africa, Brazil, United States, Mexico and China, to name a few!


Underwater gourmet delight
You’ll have a tough choice here as this option is a little more common, although still fantastic and ultra luxurious. More resorts are starting to offer this, especially in areas such as Maldives. The one which is most popular is the very first all glass underwater restaurant, Ithaa Undersea Restaurant, which is 16 feet below sea level. This one is in Conrad Maldives Rangali Island hotel and is one of the most expensive restaurants in the world.
Dark dinner
There are many places who offer this dining option. The idea is that your other senses are heightened as you cannot see a thing while you eat, and it makes the whole experience of eating in the dark even more enjoyable. One such place is in Goa, India—Spice Studio restaurant inside Alila Diwa hotel where you can choose veg or non-veg thali. A very popular one is called O.Noir restaurant in Toronto. What’s unique about this restaurant is that the servers are blind. The restaurant trains them for mainstream jobs and donates a huge amount of money to assist visually impaired.

Ninja New York boasts old school Japanese design with a labyrinth of passageways that would confuse anyone. Real inmates serve you dinner at this restaurant in Volterra, Italy! It’s not the only prison which lets tourists come inside but definitely is the fanciest.


Robot server
It shouldn’t surprise you that Tokyo would be on this list again because the city has some of the craziest cafes and restaurants in the world, and their Robot Restaurant surely deserves a mention. It’s techno with flashing lights and loud music, plus some scantily dressed women. These ‘robots’ will perform while you eat and keep you entertained!

Yes, it’s real. The restaurant, Modern Toilet in Taipei, serves their fare inside miniature toilets. In fact, the entire idea came to the owner while he was…in the toilet! It started as a chocolate soft serve ice cream shop but evolved into a restaurant and a huge tourist hotspot.
