Located on the main drag of Thamel, Himali Kitchen should get a lot of foot traffic. Unfortunately it is tucked down a narrow alley and up a flight of stairs with only a small sign on the main road to indicate where it is. Regardless, this hidden family restaurant is definitely worth checking out.Himali Kitchen is a great place for groups because their food comes in such large portions. Plus if you manage to finish your plate, the staff has no problem topping you up with additional rice or veggies at no extra charge. (However, additional naan and meat cost extra). Their menu consists of traditional Newari food and everything here is delicious.
Best Bet? Pick your favourite curry. Their curries are large enough to feed a group and taste excellent as leftovers.
