Located in Petra this restaurant offers pocket friendly and delicious food. It is centrally located just outside the gates of the city. After the long rigorous walk in the ruins under the hot sun, reaching this place for a meal is like a blessing. An absolutely welcome break!
They have indoor seating but the outside seating is preferred for its view of the city. Sandstone offers tasty food at pocket friendly prices -simple combinations of salads, mezze and delicious grills line their buffet. Varied dishes - both hot and cold - are served here. The hummus and kebabs are well cooked. The shawarmas are some of the best we have ever tasted. The mint lemonade is extremely refreshing and soothing and acts as an excellent thirst quencher. We loved the Turkish coffee at this restaurant.

Service at Sandstone Restaurant is impeccable. The staff is very friendly and offers suggestions about food and portion sizes. A bright and cheerful atmosphere that exists at Sandstone and it feels good to see happy faces all around enjoying their meal and drinks. Such amazing food with chilled beer in a decent place is all one could ask for after the tour of the city ruins. To top it all, there is good wifi connectivity, which is an added attraction for the tourists.
