Housed within the Sheraton Hotel in Bangalore, Bene is an award winning restaurant, credited for dishing up the best Italian cuisine in the city. Upon entering you’re instantly transported to the Italian countryside with the aroma of fresh bread and Italian herbs, and the illusion is carried forth through an extensive menu that veers away from staid Italian staples, towards more regional (albeit lesser known) offerings from Italy. Try the cauliflower risotto topped with grilled foie gras, and the lamb loin served with a balsamic reduction and side of roast potatoes—the risotto is cooked al dente and packs a punch in terms of flavour, and the lamb is wonderfully succulent and well-seasoned. For dessert, you can play it safe with the tiramisu before ending with a cup of steaming coffee.
