Literary parade of Irish writers

At the far end of the lawns of St Patrick’s Cathedral stands a long brick wall with arches called the Literary Parade of Irish writers. Walking past the wall is to get an instant and short history of Ireland’s most famous writers. Each of arches hides an alcove into which is inserted an oval bronze plaque with the sculpted head of the writer, a short biography and the three most important works of the writer. Featured here are Samuel Beckett, James Joyce, George Bernard Shaw, Jonathan Swift, Oscar Wilde and William Butler Yeats among others.
