The fish market in Dubai is a place where you can buy a range of fish that is sold cheap and fresh. The new Waterfront Market, also described as a mishmash of traditional souk and contemporary facility, is spread across 100,000 sq m. Located near Hamriya Port on Al Khaleej Road, this market is full of hawkers selling some of the exotic and rare marine items like little shark, blue lobster and kingfish, among others. While the old Deira fish market is smelly and dirty, this new fish market has much cleaner environment, which also has odour controlling facilities in case you are not a big fan of fish aroma! But go here for the experience. Try visiting during the morning hours if possible when you can get best bargains and fresh products; wear waterproof shoes (as it can get a little watery inside). When you are done fishing, make sure to pay a visit to the nearby fruit and vegetable market, which is one of the largest in the city. The entire place looks like a rainbow, with myriad colourful fruits and vegetables on offer.
