High tea at The Ritz

In typical English style, this is nothing short of an institution. It has grown so popular over the years, that there are now five different slots to accommodate the bookings on a daily basis. Starting from 11.30am, 1.30pm, 3.30pm, 5.30pm and the last at 7.30pm, bookings need to be made at least four weeks in advance. Tea is served in the elegant Palm Court and is accompanied by a pianist or a harpist. An extensive selection of 17 different types of loose leaf tea is offered, along with a traditional English Tea Menu including freshly cut sandwiches with smoked salmon, cucumber, egg mayonnaise, roast ham and Cheddar cheese fillings. These are served on a three tier stand along with freshly baked apple and raisin scones with strawberry preserve and clotted Cornish cream, followed by a delectable selection of afternoon tea cakes and pastries. The dress code reflects the ambience and style of the affair. Gentlemen are required to wear a jacket and tie; and women must be formally dressed.Refrain from posting comments that are obscene, defamatory or inflammatory, and do not indulge in personal attacks, name calling or inciting hatred against any community.
