Just a few weeks back, Disney World reopened its doors for visitors with all the Coronavirus safety protocols. But the famous entertainment company never thought that the attendance of the park will be so low that they’ll have to cut down the park hours! The Florida theme park on its official website revised its hours and both Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios lost an hour of operation. Read less
In addition to these, Epcot and Animal Kingdom too are cutting by two hours and one hour, respectively. This comes as a major setback as Disney World did not expect such low footfall. The new timings will be start from September 8 and are mentioned below:
Magic Kingdom: 9 AM to 6 PM
Epcot: 11 AM to 7 PM
Hollywood Studios: 10 AM to 7 PM
But after announcing the reopening, Disney World was hoping to get out of the situation but it did not go per plan because of the pandemic. The virus outbreak has had an impact on long-distance visitors which has adversely affected the number of people.
Despite adhering to all kinds of health and safety protocols for guests and staff, the company couldn’t succeed in attracting a large number of visitors. Masks were made mandatory for all guests ages 2 and older while inside the parks, sanitizers were installed at all the possible places and relaxation zones were built where people could eat and drink.
Visitors were also asked to make reservations for each park online days before and the number of people allowed inside the park at a time was also reduced significantly. But surprisingly, nothing worked in the favor of the park and this is because Disney World has now decided to cut the hours.
