Your quick guide to reaching Mumbai’s famous Lalbaugcha Raja Pandal

The idol of Lalbaugcha Raja in Mumbai attracts a stupendous number of devotees during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival every year. So much so that the number of visitors keen on having the darshan of the giant-sized idol goes on increasing every time.

Anyone planning to visit Lalbaugcha Ganpati should come prepared with abundant patience and will power because this place will test your nerves to the maximum! There are two kinds of darshan sought at this pandal—Navsachi (or Charan Sparsh) and Mukha Darshan. While, the Navsachi queue features devotees, who want to pay their respects to the deity for wish fulfillment, the queue meant for Mukha darshan comprises devotees, who want to behold the Ganpati idol from a distance. Apparently, the Navsachi line has the maximum number of devotees and it takes a long and arduous wait before their turn comes to touch the feet of Ganpati.

The Lalbaugcha Raja pandal is locally in central Mumbai, and that makes it easy for anyone to reach it by road and Mumbai local train, depending on where you are coming from.

To reach Lalbaugcha pandal, board the local train to Chinchpokali or Byculla Station. The Mukha Darshan queue can also be reached from Cotton Green Station on Harbour Railway or Rani Baug on the Central line. If coming by road for Mukha Darshan, the suggested route could be via Chhatrapati Shivaji Ground (Garam Khada) and T.B. Kadam Marg

For Navsachi darshan, visitors can reach the pandal from Lower Parel station on the Western rail line, and Curry Road station on the Central line. If coming by road, the ideal route could be Dinshaw Petit Lane – G.D. Ambedkar Marg – Dr. Vijay Walimbe Road in Parel Village – Guru Rani Chowk in Parel.
