West Bengal government is planning to introduce fish tourism circuit to attract fish-lovers from all across the globe. Blueprint for the same is being prepared by the State Fisheries Development Corporation (SFDC) for the tourism circuit. SFDC is targeting places such as Digha, Udaypur, Henry Island, Bishnupur, Jamunadighi, and Siliguri because there are hotels at these destinations.
Few months back, West Bengal government came up with a plan to develop tourism circuits that will mostly cover all the historical places in the state. Tourism Minister Gautam Deb informed the assembly about his plans to develop a tourism circuit. The proposed plan includes destination like Bishnupur in Bankura district, which is renowned for its terracotta temples that are from 17th and 18th centuries. Then there is Mukutmanipur, known for being home to the second biggest earth dam of the country.
