Hawaii extends mandatory 14-day quarantine to all incoming visitors

Hawaii announced an extension of its 14-day quarantine policy for all people who visit the Aloha state. Reportedly, anyone who leaves their hotel rooms for stroll on the beach or food, can get arrested.
As per the latest reports, Hawaii Governor David Ige extended the state’s mandatory quarantine for 14 days in a bid to contain the spread of the Coronavirus. Reports state that the latest rule will be in place till the end of July. Meanwhile, Hawaii is hoping to come up with a screening process before letting the travellers return without going through the quarantine process.

Reports suggest that Hawaii is also planning to implement facial recognition technology and thermal screening stations by the end of 2020 to help with the process. With the help of this technology, it is expected that it would accelerate the process of tracking people in the airport while they’re being screened for the COVID-19.
Referring to this, Hawaii Governor added that there will be a new form of travel and new procedures all focused on allowing authorities to know who’s traveling. He emphasised that most importantly, it will enable them to collect key information to contact them. He reiterated that the new health screening process will become part of their overall process to ensure that their travel is safe between islands.

Ige introduced the mandatory self-quarantine measures in March for all residents and tourists arriving in the region.

Officials informed that state's inter-island quarantine rules will likely be lifted next week; however, anyone with a temperature over 100.4 degrees will not be allowed to fly.
