Bolzano, also called Bozen, is the main city of the unique Italian region of South Tyrol, where German language is predominantly spoken and reflected in its people and culture. Considered to be the safest and cleanest city in Italy, it’s always on top of the ranking for the quality of life. It is surrounded by the Alps and this portion of amazing mountain range is called Dolomites, famous worldwide for its stunning beauty and pink rocks. Read less

It is surrounded by the Alps and this portion of amazing mountain range is called Dolomites, famous worldwide for its stunning beauty and pink rocks.
Regarding archeology, in Bolzano you can see something unique—the mummy of the famous Iceman Ötzi that lived five thousand years ago and was found well preserved in the ice not far from the Austrian Border. The whole geographical area of Bolzano is devoted to the cultivation of two main crops, grapes and apples: in South Tyrol are growing about half of the whole apples picked in Italy.
