The Goa tourism department wrote to all shack owners, asking them to disassemble their constructions on different beaches. Furthermore, the tourism department directed the private lifeguard agency that is in charge of manning Goan beaches to erect “no swimming zone” signboards.
Statistically, Goa has witnessed a rise in the arrival of tourists on its soil. Of all the international arrivals in Goa from May 2017 to April 2018, tourists from Russia outnumbered other foreign visitors.
Monsoon in Goa may not find many takers among the foreign tourists, more so the Russian ones, but the season of rains is quite popular among Indian tourists. During the monsoon, several guest houses and eateries shut shop temporarily for the rains; so tourists are advised to book their place in advance from reliable sources before landing in Goa.
