Kochi
There are a very few experiences in the state that come as close to taking a stroll in Fort Kochi. The rather unassuming neighbourhood is an art lover's haven and is also home to cafes, churches, synagogues, heritage homes, and the famous fishing nets are also around as well. Varkala is the little hippie beach destination in Kerala but there's more to it than that. This cliffside beach wonder is also the place to learn surfing, yoga, go for Ayurveda treatments or just bask in the wonderland that the place is.

There is no getting over Munnar's lush tea estates and rightly so. A drive through these is one of the most scenic ones in the country, with waterfalls gurgling in between tea plantations when it rains. Periyar
Freely roaming wild elephants and a national park that teems with Bengal tigers, this place is a treasure for the lovers of all things wild. The sights here are surreal and the waterbodies make it more of a delight. When here, do get yourself cups of cardamom coffee, a specialty I have not found anywhere else in the country!

Kerala's Vagamon is another offbeat place that brings sights like this come alive. Its lush, rolling hills are something that you would never get over. It's also one of the most offbeat places in the state.

Vembanad Lake
This is the longest lake in the country and is spread over 230 sq km. It's also a haven for birdwatchers and is a must if you are into photography. Also, the greenery here is more inviting than any other record that the place holds.
