United Airlines to ban passengers without a face mask

In a new policy introduced by United Airlines, it has decided to ban passengers temporarily from flying in case they refuse to wear a mask on board. The new policy will be implemented from June 18.

United, a premium American airline, will put those under restriction list who refuse to comply with the mask wearing policy. The airlines had made masks wearing a mandate for its employees from April 24 and expanded the same to its customers on May 4.
United’s Chief Customer Officer, Toby Enqvist, said, “Every reputable [health] institution says wearing a mask is one of the most effective things people can do to protect others from contracting COVID-19, especially in places like an aircraft where social distancing is a challenge.”

He further informed that they are very pleased as they have received an overwhelming majority of passengers ready to comply with the airlines policy. He also said that this is an unmistakable signal that the airline is all ready to take serious steps to protect their customers and crew.
According to the authorities, if anyone is not seen wearing a mask inside the flight (until someone’s medical condition does not allow them to wear one), they will first be provided with a mask by the flight attendant.

In case a passenger still refuses without any valid reason, the same will be reported. Then, a formal review will take place where it will be decided if the person needs to be banned from the airline. If a passenger gets banned, he/she won’t be able to fly for some time in the airlines.
Not only this, the airlines has also asked all passengers to verify their health status during check-in for Coronavirus. Besides United Airlines, American Airlines, Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, JetBlue Airways, Delta Air Lines and Southwest Airlines have also decided to impose the same mask policy for passengers on board.
