On Sunday, the UK witnessed the worst snowfall in the past two to three decades, which is now being hailed as a 'snowbomb' by the weathermen. Snowbomb is created when moist air from the Atlantic gathers up against a fast-growing whirlpool of furious winds and storms coming from the Arctic.
Considering the weather conditions, bin collections were also stopped because the authorities thought it unsafe for people to remove their domestic trash. The unfavourable weather conditions also unveiled the weakness of UK’s transport system. Consequently, roads were sealed, bus and train services closed and even the airports were shut down for some time. The travel issues are expected to sustain on Monday as well. Weather forecasters have warned of freezing nightlong temperatures transforming the snow into toxic black ice.
