Turkey puts a ban on visa-on-arrival for Indians

Tourists from India visiting Turkey by air will now be refused visa-on-arrival. Beginning from October 28, 2018, Turkey has put a ban on the e-visa or visa-on-arrival facility for India and several other nations.
Reportedly, Indian tourists and those from other countries could get a visa after landing in Istanbul, but after the change in rule, tourists have to apply for a visa online before taking off from their home country. A copy of the visa had to be always carried by the tourists during their stay in Turkey as the same could be verified by the airport authorities at the time of arrival.
According to news reports, the passenger will be required to pay the visa fee as the final step during the application process. Then after, a link for the visa will be given for printout. The passenger will be required to take along the printed copy of the visa besides carrying the soft copy.

The former e-visa is applicable only for passengers visiting Turkey for business or leisure. However, for people visiting Turkey for work or study purpose will have to go through the newly valid procedure.
