An announcement has been made recently that Bahrain will soon be home to the world’s largest underwater theme park spread over an area of more than 1,00,000 square meters. The news was broken by the Personal Representative of His Majesty King Hamad, HH Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who is also President of the Supreme Council for Environment.
News has it that HH Shaikh Abdullah laid stress on the kingdom’s dedication to conserving its marine habitat by integrating the highest international environmental standards in this ecologically viable underwater project. This would also make Bahrain a torch-bearer in the realm of preservation of marine wildlife and ecotourism.
Reportedly, the launch event of the underwater dive site will be organised in the coming days in partnership with the local dive firms, private sector and clubs. It will welcome diving enthusiasts and regular visitors before summer this year.
