Iceland has been steadily opening up for visitors, and now the country is welcoming foreign nations to work remotely from the destination for six whole months.
The long-term work programme is now open for visitors beyond the Schengen area. So, foreign nations who are not required to have a visa to enter Iceland can avail this new programme. If you are an applicant to this programme, you must keep in mind that you need to be employed by a foreign company, and also have health insurance.
These are the basic requirements to be able to work from Iceland.
People who are married or have families would be happy to know that they can actually bring family members along. But they are required to change their legal domicile to Iceland, or try to get an Icelandic ID number.
