Set on the banks of Chandrabhaga river in Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh is this beautiful hamlet of Udaipur. It’s a pretty mountain village that was once known as Markul because of the famous Markula Devi Temple, which was later on changed to Udaipur in 1695 AD, in honour of King Udai Singh, the ruler of Chamba.

Keylong
Situated at around 53 km away from Udaipur, Keylong is an interesting getaway. There is the Kardang Monastery here that you can check out. This monastery dates back to the 12th century, and is a beautiful place to visit.
Sach Pass
Although it’s one of the most dangerous passes in the country, it should feature on your travel wishlist if you love adventure. It’s set at around 65 km away from Udaipur, and remains open from June-October.
Suraj Tal
Mrikula TempleIt’s one of the holiest sites in the entire Spiti Lahaul district. This place also serves as one of the most significant landmarks in the town. Dating back to more than 6,000 years, it’s believed that this temple was created by Lord Vishvakarma himself and is also associated with Goddess Durga, as it’s believed that it’s here where she killed Mahishasur, the demon. Nevertheless, it’s a beautiful spot to visit.
