The Tourism Department will be organising this event under the tutelage of Kerala Adventure Tourism Promotion Society, and Kozhikode District Tourism Promotion Council. This year, the festival will turn seven.
This famous kayak championship will be hosted on Iruvazhinji and Chalippuzha Rivers, and technical support will be provided by Madras Fun Tools. The said competition will be held in three categories, i.e., Extreme Race, Boat Race, and Giant Slalom. The winner of this championship will be awarded INR 10 lakh. The said event will also have categories in which professionals and intermediate kayakers will be able to participate.
With the monsoon bringing alive the rivers of high ranges, those kayakers interested in participating have already started moving to the hilly destination with their rafts.
As per the latest news reports, it is expected that more than 15 international kayakers and 75 Indian kayakers might be competing in male and female categories.
