Thailand’s Tham Luang Cave is now open for visitors

Thailand’s Tham Luang cave is now open for tourists. 30 people would be permitted to enter it at a time, with a maximum capacity of 2000 people per day. The all-new Thai cave tourism is set to be a very big draw for tourists as it is that same cave where 12 boys from the Wild Boars football team and their football coach were stuck in June-July 2018. The boys and their coach were rescued after an elaborate rescue mission that lasted 17 days, involving 7000 people in the rescue operation.
The cave was opened for tourists with great fanfare, involving a procession of monks, Thai government officials (including Jongklai Worapongsathork Parks, Director-General, Department of National Parks), and journalists.
The entrance of this cave is now guarded by a metal barrier that has been placed for safety, and visitors can take pictures from a distance of 30 metres. There are three points in the attraction, which also includes a shrine that honours Jao Mae Nang Non, a mythical princess. It is said that she inhabits the cave, the mouth of the cave as well as its exit point.

The members of the Wild Boars football team, along with the coach, were stuck in the cave after they reportedly entered it to celebrate a birthday party. Continuous rainfall left them stranded in the cave, as they were unable to get out.
The rescue operations even claimed one life, that of Thai Navy diver Saman Gunan, who died after losing consciousness on his way out from the cave.
