Thai shoppers are using creative alternatives to carry groceries after plastic ban

After a nation-wide ban on single-use plastic in Thailand was announced, people are giving wings to their creativity and has taken the digital world by storm with their photos. In fact, this move has inspired people to reuse their household items for shopping errands.

Although the ban will go into full effect by 2021, major retailers have stopped giving items wrapped in plastic bags. As people all over the world are progressing toward a more environmentally-friendly approach, many countries have already cut down on single-use plastic consumption, and Thailand has joined the list.
Last year, Indonesia banned the use of plastic straws and bags in an effort to reduce plastic pollution. Thailand too enforced a similar rule this year, with major convenience and departmental stores banning the use of plastic bags from January 1.
