IRCTC has more good news for train travellers in India. News has it that Indian Railways is now raring to add a new train to its existing series of express passenger train service, Rajdhani Express, which connects New Delhi with other metropolitan and capital cities of the different states in India.
Reportedly, this train will be first of its kind to be covering the Central Zone. It will pass through Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), Kalyan, Jalgaon, Nasik, Khandwa, Bhopal, Agra, Jhansi and Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station in New Delhi.
For now, there are two Rajdhani Express trains plying between Delhi and Mumbai. However, the railways are preparing to flag-off the new Delhi-Mumbai Rajdhani Express that will cover the Central zone of the Indian Railways. The project was undertaken at the special petition put forth by Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
As per the railway data, there about 23 Rajdhani Express trains operating on different tracks, including two trains of the series serving Mumbai. As of now, one train is catering to Mumbai Central and another to Bandra Terminus on the Western Railway Zone.
According to the news reports, the new Rajdhani Express train will be the first ever of the series to course through Madhya Pradesh rather than Gujarat.
