But now, travellers will get to know more about the destinations they visit in Kerala, thanks to an innovative idea. As per the latest reports, the state-owned Bekal Resorts Development Corporation (BRDC) is gearing up to implement this ‘storytelling’ initiative with the sole aim to make destinations more familiar to travellers.
The project will be an eye-opener for tourists and their travel experience as it will be preserving and compiling unrecorded and uncharted historical tales about places, including folklore, ancient history, and geographical elements.
Seminars and workshops would be conducted along with special training for storytelling entrepreneurs. Initially, workshops would be organised among various experts from different fields; later on, dissertations will be prepared in the form of stories by experts, which will be made into books. The content will include the true history of particular tourist places along with pictures, and anecdotes will be introduced via modern technologies.
Myths, agriculture, life stories, folk arts, and rituals, all will be studied as part of this project. Thus, the compositions will be a combination of experiences, myths, lives, and legends.
