Founded 40 years ago, the Staten Island Children's Museum aims to engage children through interactive exhibits. These include massive board games; a theatre stocked with kid-size costumes; a House About It installation in which children can use real tools; and Ladder 11—a hands-on firehouse where kids can don a helmet, slide down the pole, hook up a hose and even climb aboard a vintage fire truck.
