Imagine losing yourself in 1000 acres of temperate rainforest, with trees towering over you, lakes filling your mind’s eye and gardens vying for attention. I almost lose my way, as I follow a dreamy trail, shrouded in mist through a dense canopy of verdant greenery. A man in a horse carriage stops by and takes me into this world of pristine nature. I stand there along the 9 km long sea wall, taking in the scenic view. Elsewhere the totem poles beckon you. This is Stanley Park, one of the top 10 urban parks in the world with theatres and swimming pools, restaurants and aquariums calling out to you. Hikers and bikers can spend an eternity here, exploring the myriad trails that curve around nature. As I leave, a flock of Canadian geese call out to me.
