If you think Moscow is charming, then go visit St Petersburg. The historical city is a wonderful place or soul-seekers, wanderers, and history buffs. Just about 4 hours away from Moscow by train, this can be your wonderland for a weekend. Its canals are enchanting enough for an evening cruise, while the city’s cathedrals and stunning baroque architecture would leave you stunned. The Hermitage Museum and the Russian Museum are places where art and culture come alive. Then again one cannot avoid the opulent opera and the sylphlike ballets are experiences that define Russian culture. Also, St Petersburg is perhaps where the Russian nobility is truly resplendent, so among all its stunning palaces, the Peterhof Palace is a must visit.
