One of the three towers of the city of Ghent, St. Michael’s Church is Roman Catholic Church, built in a late Gothic style. Now adorning an unfinished tower, the church building was twice destroyed by fire early in the 12th century and rebuilt later. The church has a neo-gothic interior, and the most prized possession of the church is the famous painting by Anthony Van Dyck of Christ dying on the cross.
