The country was beautiful, no doubts. But NOT A WELCOME PLACE FOR INDIANS. Everything and anything is money, they are targeting the Europeans and Americans only which was so obvious from the price tag they quote for anything. Entrance fee applicable to any place including temples and ranges from Rs 1000 to Rs 1500. A Buffet lunch which has nothing(just 4 or max 5 dishes) costs Rs 1000 or more. The highlight was we visited an ayurvedic farm and wanted to buy a 100 ml bottle of Arthritis oil - the price they quoted was Rs 19,500.The Gems and Jewels is another comedy there, whatever we can get in India for Rs 1000 or less per carat(the semi-precious stones) costs around 1,00,000(1 Lakh INR) - can you imagine? All the prices were set targeting people from West - all above prices would look like hardly$50 /$100 for them.Sri Lanka wants to make money even from Elephant p*o*o*p- a note pad - size 3 inches made from elephant dung costs Rs 1200.Everything and Anything is money! in spite of all the natural resources they have.Life of vegetarians is another big question there - couldn''t manage 5 days there.Read More
