Sources said that after a meeting with the sculptor, State Home Minister Gulabchand Kataria, decided to install the statue, and has directed the artist to complete it at the earliest. The Deepika Padukone-Shahid Kapoor-Ranveer Singh starrer movie has faced enough flak from right-wing groups even before its release, thereby stalling the release of the movie. Accused of distorting historical facts, the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed Padmavati has been stalled because of protests in places such as Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. The movie was scheduled to be released on December 1, 2017, but it has not yet seen the light of day. While historians are yet to confirm whether Rani Padmavati ever existed, we have some quick decisions made by the Rajasthan Government in an attempt to immortalise the Rajput queen, Rani Padmini.
