Slovenia’s highest ski resort reopened and hundreds of skiers reached the destination already. After about two months of lockdown, the beautiful Kanin has opened up for skiing, making Slovenia the first European country to declare an end to the epidemic.
The resort is located on Western Slovenia, and is close to Italy. Visitors enjoyed their time here as they got to experience the beautiful outdoors after two long months at home. Kanin saw almost 300 people coming into this mountainous region, and enjoying their time out in the open.
Even though Slovenia has eased its lockdown, people are still required to wear masks and maintain practice social distancing. The country had started to ease its lockdown on April 20, and on May 11 it resumed public transport. The Kanin ski resort opened up for business on May 14. In Slovenia as of now, the rate of reproduction of the virus is below 1. What this means is that a person who is infected will transmit the virus to less than one person on an average.
